Further information on the Hellenic Initiative Against Alzheimer’s disease is available on www.hiaad.gr.

In 2021 thāllo and the Hellenic Initiative Against Alzheimer’s Disease (HIAAD) increased their social impact through a new information and support phone service for people living with dementia and their caregivers, providing a series of tools that further enhance the quality of caregiving through reliable information. HIAAD, which has been actively and openly operating since 2019, comprises distinguished scientists in many fields of expertise in Greece and abroad –clinicians, researchers, teachers, legal professionals, businessmen– who share the vision of helping Greece to adjust sooner in the dementia reality.

The Information and Support Helpline is the outcome of the coordinated efforts made by thāllo and HIAAD, reflecting the way the American Alzheimer’s Association’s practices were implemented in Greek reality. Its main mission is to provide integrated care to patients with memory disorders and to their families, following internationally recognized guidelines.

In a secure environment of extroversion and free expression we aim at conveying our belief that knowledge reduces stress and fear. Our wishes and goals are the following:

Preventing social exclusion experienced by the elderly
Building the confidence of people with dementia and of their caregivers
Supporting health professionals in their difficult work
Informing the public so as to feel safe in sharing their experience
Gradually eliminating the stigma associated with dementia

The Information and Support Helpline is the fruit of the collaboration between seveneleven and the Hellenic Initiative Against Alzheimer’s Disease.
It was implemented thanks to a founding grant by the TIMA Charitable Foundation and since April 2022 it continues to run, in an expanded form,
thanks to a grant by the Athina I. Martinou Foundation.
